With the driver operating the vehicle at 8-10MPH, the system can update one container, chassis, and/or parking spot empty status every second to the Terminal Operating System (TOS). This includes the time required to audit poor ocr image reads.  Utilizing the MIV technology allows for the TOS inventory to be updated with 4000 parking spaces every 2 hours. The manual process equivalent is 10 hours to perform the same task.
The system is completely mobile. All that is required to utilize this technology at a terminal site is mapping of the site which is done remotely in most cases utilizing Google® Maps®Data from the MIV is sent over a cellular card connection so a terminal wide wi-fi network is not required. All reports and audit functions are hosted on the internet and can be performed at any location in the world with a high speed internet broadband connection.

Inventory data is then pushed to the TOS from the HKI CAS servers hosted on the internet.
